YOUR INFORMATION. YOUR TRUST.
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 29, 2026
We will never sell or trade your personal information.
Your information is used to provide GolfOptix and support your course operations. It is never a product for advertisers or data brokers.

Who we are and what this policy covers
GolfOptix is created and operated by Rebel Tech (“GolfOptix,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit golfoptix.com or our GolfOptix-hosted pages, use the course workspace, or contact us.
It describes the version available today: email-based accounts, administrator-approved course access, and browser-local course editing and backups. Account and profile information is stored by our authentication provider. Course edits and backups remain in your browser; they are not cloud backups. We will update this policy before introducing materially different data practices.
We will never sell or trade your information
GolfOptix and Rebel Tech will never sell, rent, trade, or exchange anyone’s personal information for money or other valuable consideration. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not provide customer lists to advertisers or data brokers, and we will not transfer personal information as an asset for sale in a business transaction.
Limited disclosures needed to provide the service, respond to your instructions, or comply with law are explained below. Those disclosures do not permit recipients acting for us to sell or trade your information.
Information involved when you use GolfOptix
- Information you enter: an editing name, repair descriptions, assignments, updates, completion notes, map labels, map edits and change history. These may include names or other personal details you choose to enter. Please keep notes limited to course operations and do not enter passwords, payment details, medical information or other sensitive personal information.
- Local course data and backups: course maps, edits, maintenance history, backup names, backup dates and your device’s time-zone setting. Imported backup files are read in your browser; the current application does not upload their contents to us.
- Messages you send us: your email address, name if supplied, message and any attachments when you contact us. We use these to answer you and handle your request.
- Technical connection information: our hosting provider may process your IP address, requested page or file, request time, browser/device information, referring page and security/error information to deliver and protect the website. An IP address may indicate an approximate region. The current app does not request GPS or precise device location.
Account information includes your email address, name, requested course and track, optional job title and phone number, assigned course permissions, and account activity. Netlify Identity processes your password to authenticate you, sends verification and recovery emails, and stores protected credentials. We do not publish or store plaintext passwords in our website files. GolfOptix does not process payment information.
Public Test Drive
The fictional Test Drive needs no account. Its map changes and repair notes are held only in the open page’s memory, not saved to local storage, session storage or a server. They reset when you leave or refresh the page, after 15 minutes of inactivity, or after one hour. Files you choose to print or download remain under your control. Standard hosting request data still applies.
Browser storage, cookies and tracking
The current GolfOptix application uses browser storage for its essential features:
- Session storage: recent map-edit undo history. These are normally cleared when the relevant browser session ends.
- Local storage: the course’s editing and maintenance records, including names, notes, adjustments and history.
- IndexedDB: full-course backups and restored map files saved on that browser.
These records are specific to the browser, device and site address you use. They do not automatically synchronize between devices or between different GolfOptix hostnames. The current application does not transmit these locally saved records to a GolfOptix server.
Authentication uses essential session and refresh cookies to keep you signed in, and the provider may maintain browser session information for authentication. These are not advertising tools. We have not installed advertising cookies, third-party analytics scripts, tracking pixels or cross-site advertising tools. Hosting infrastructure may use necessary technical mechanisms to deliver and secure requests. Browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change the application’s behavior because it does not perform cross-site behavioral tracking. We do not sell or share information for advertising regardless of whether a Global Privacy Control signal is enabled.
How information is used and disclosed
We use information to provide course-map and maintenance features, save and restore your work, respond to communications, diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. We do not use your repair notes or course records to build advertising profiles.
- Service providers: our website is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical request information to deliver and secure the site. Netlify Identity stores and processes account/profile information and credentials for sign-in, verification, recovery and access management. Email providers process correspondence you send to info@golfoptix.com. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. We limit disclosures to providing, supporting or protecting the service; we do not authorize providers acting for us to sell, trade or use your information for their own advertising.
- At your direction: downloaded backups and printed work orders contain the information you select. You control who receives them. Backups can include names, notes and complete change history.
- Legal and safety needs: we may disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse or address security threats. Such disclosure is not a sale or trade.
External websites have their own privacy practices. Netlify publishes information about its practices at Netlify’s Privacy Statement.
Retention and your control over local records
Local course records and backups remain in your browser until you remove them, clear this site’s stored data, or your browser removes them. Removing an item from a map does not erase its retained change or maintenance history. The Backup manager lets you delete saved backup copies; deleting a backup does not change the active course.
To erase all locally saved GolfOptix data, use your browser’s site-data settings for each GolfOptix address you used, then reload the site. This also removes locally stored maps and backups. Download anything you need first. Files you previously downloaded and work orders you printed must be deleted or securely disposed of separately.
We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer requests, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes or meet legal requirements. Hosting logs follow the provider’s retention arrangements; we do not promise a fixed log-retention period that has not been established. Account and profile records remain while your account is active or reasonably needed for security, legal obligations and request handling. Contact us to request account deletion. We cannot remotely access or erase the course copies saved only on your device.
Privacy questions and requests
Email info@golfoptix.com to ask what personal information we hold, request access or a copy, correct information, request deletion, or raise a concern. Include enough detail to identify your request, but do not send passwords or identity documents unless we arrange a necessary, secure verification process.
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, appeal a decision, or complain to a privacy regulator. We will handle applicable requests and appeals within legally required timeframes and will not discriminate against you for exercising a protected right. If you disagree with our response, reply to the same address and ask Rebel Tech to review it.
Where your golf club determines how employee or course records are used, you may also need to direct your request to that club. For browser-only records, the local controls described above let you manage the copies we do not receive.
Security and shared devices
We take reasonable measures appropriate to the information and service, but no website or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Sign-in and course permissions are checked on the server. Earlier demonstration map exports were previously public; adding sign-in does not remove copies people may already have downloaded. Browser storage and backup files are not a private account vault. Other people with access to the same browser profile may be able to read them.
Use a protected device, keep your browser up to date, and protect downloaded backups and printed work orders. Only approved course members and administrators can access course pages and maps on this site. Each browser account has separate local edit and backup storage. Signing out does not erase those local files; clear this site’s data before handing a shared device to someone else.
Children
GolfOptix is intended for adults managing golf-course operations, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact info@golfoptix.com so we can investigate and address it.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates here with a revised effective date. For material changes to how personal information is handled, we will provide a prominent website notice and any additional notice or consent required by law before the new practice applies. Our promise never to sell or trade personal information applies to information already provided to GolfOptix.
